Kingfisher counselling
Welcome, and thank you for visiting Kingfisher Counselling.
Choosing to come for counselling is an important step, so the information here is to help you make the decision about whether to contact a counsellor.
My name is Meryl Hargreaves and I am a professionally qualified counsellor working from a person-centred perspective in Redditch, Worcestershire (just south of Birmingham). I have a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am a member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I am bound by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice from the BACP which includes regular supervision and continued professional development. I have professional indemnity insurance and an enhanced criminal records bureau clearance (CRB).
I am also an accredited member of the National Counselling Society.
I am also listed on the Counselling Directory.
In addition to private practice I counsel at an agency providing support for a wide range of issues. This includes people referred from their GP practice, the local mental health team and self referrals.
How can I help?
You may be able to identify something that is causing you distress or you may be dissatisfied with aspects of your life. If you are concerned about depression, work-related or family issues (or other topics) counselling can help you change, develop and cope with what has happened. I would like to work alongside you, offering you a safe place to talk without any judgement and supporting you along your journey so you can live the best that you possibly can.
What next?
Please look around the site where you will find the answers to your questions. There is more about my approach to counselling on the Counselling page, and Working Together gives information about what happens during counselling sessions. When you are ready to book an initial counselling session or you would like to contact me please go to the Practicalities page.
I look forward to hearing from you.
